Nonprofit lookup
Search for a nonprofit by name or EIN to see its public IRS records, with links to the official IRS sources.
Public IRS records only
Everything in this lookup comes from files the IRS publishes for anyone to download: the Exempt Organizations Business Master File and the Form 990-series e-file indexes. Nothing here comes from Fast File Exempt accounts or from returns filed through Fast File Exempt. We run this lookup; it isn’t an IRS service. About this data

What the records show
- The organization’s entry in the IRS Exempt Organizations Business Master File: its name, city and state, the section of the tax code it is recognized under, its foundation and filing-requirement codes, the month its accounting year ends, and the month of its IRS ruling or determination letter.
- The Form 990, 990-EZ, 990-PF and 990-T returns listed for it in the IRS e-file indexes, for index years 2021–2026, by form and tax period, and its latest Form 990-N.
- Links to the IRS pages where you can find the returns themselves and the IRS’s current records.
What they leave out
- Whether an organization is in good standing today, or whether a gift to it is deductible. You can check both in IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search.
- Organizations the master file doesn’t list: churches and others that never applied to the IRS for recognition, and organizations whose exemption was revoked.
- Paper returns, Form 990-N filings before an organization’s latest one, and returns the IRS hasn’t published yet. If a return isn’t listed here, it may still have been filed.
- Financial figures, officers, donors, or anything else from inside the returns.
The lookup currently covers 1,975,975 organizations and 3,671,728 e-filed returns, from the IRS master file dated October 13, 2026. We loaded it on October 26, 2026. About this data

Fast File Exempt e-files Forms 990-PF, 990 and 990-EZ that an organization prepared itself, and Form 8868 extensions. Form 990-N is free. Which form your organization files depends on its situation this year, not on the forms it filed before.
